The Data Semantics Lab was approved as member of the Federation of Earth Science Information Partners (ESIP Federation), which is an open, networked community that brings together science, data and information technology practitioners. DaSeLab in particular intends to contribute to the newly formed ESIP Standing Committee for Semantic Technologies, which has grown out of the ESIP Semantic Web Cluster.
